Purpose:

1. BP-Models: Different abstraction levels

The system must permit to specify relate business process models and contents at different abstaction levels

The objective is to have the possibility to describe a process at different abstraction level which have to be defined. In particular the system should distinguish between the global view and the local view.

2. Business Process Model in Multiple Abstraction Levels

The system should support multiple abstraction levels of business process knowledge representation.

Managers will need higher level process models that the workers who need to perform atomic tasks.

3. BP-Models: Different views

The system must provide a way to define "views" to allow different modes of accessing one specific business process.

Based on the skills of the users or on the current task that is being performed (e.g. by a specific department) this functionality will allow confrontation only with a specific tasks or parts of available objects within the meta model.

4. Content Role Based Views

The system should provide the possibility to switch views for specific viewpoints. For example an expert business user might be interested on other aspects or different level of granularity than a novice user.

Providing personalized, or role-based, views on content could reduce complexity and enhance user friendliness.

Functional Requirements Specification:

The environment should provide different views on business processes, either in terms of the level of abstraction and detail and whether global or local views, or based on the role that is viewing the process.
